Cold-pressed Perilla oil, also called Perilla frutescens oil , Shiso oil , is extracted from the seeds of the Perilla plant. This plant originates from East Asia and is related to the mint. The seeds of the perilla plant consist of about half oil. The cold-pressed oil is used both internally and externally in countries such as Japan, Burma and China for various ailments or to care for skin problems. The oil is clear yellow and smells slightly nutty.
